Livingston County shop to host Free events for board game and comic book lovers

Nerdageddon Comics Cards Collectibles – www.Nerdageddon.com - located at 117 E. Grand River Avenue in Brighton, Michigan is excited to invite area nerds to upcoming FREE events. Nerd-A-Game-Day will be held in conjunction with International Table Top Day on Saturday April 11th from 10a-8p and is sure to excite those gamers looking to test the latest board & tabletop games or play some of the classics. Then on, Saturday May 2nd from 12noon-7pm, Nerdageddon will participate in the national comic book holiday - Free Comic Book Day – taking place every year on the first Saturday in May. 

“Both, Nerd-A-Game-Day and Free Comic Book Day, are events that highlight all the fun stuff that happens at our shop,” said store owner, and leader of the nerd herd, Chris Bonjour. “Giving people a place to enjoy what they enjoy is what Nerdageddon is all about. Nerd-A-Game-Day brings everyone together for a marathon of great gaming with demos, door prizes, and a myriad of nerd-out moments. Free Comic Book Day keeps growing each year as readers, new and old, line up hours in advance to fill their bags with the newest storylines including the much anticipated Marvel’s Secret Wars #0. Take the time to reward your inner nerd and enjoy these events with Nerdageddon in beautiful downtown Brighton, Michigan.”

Southeastern Michigan gamers are sure to enjoy Nerd-A-Game-Day’s game demonstrations of tabletop games, card games and a variety of board games. The event will feature games like Luchador! – Mexican, Wrestling Dice - a competitive dice rolling game that takes place in a miniature wrestling ring and players take on the roles (and ‘moves’) of Luchador wrestlers.  Luchador! Was also named the UK Games Expo Awards 2014 “Best New Family Game. “Bringing families together to enjoy games or just some good ol’ fashioned ‘brain exercising’ is what we specialize in and Nerd-A-Game-Day will be a fun day for gamers in the area to check out some new stuff” says Nerdageddon’s Director of Awesome and co-owner, Shalini Karnani Bonjour. 

It’s not all games at Nerdageddon! The yearly event comic book enthusiasts, young and old, anxiously anticipate every first Saturday in May, FREE Comic Book Day, is sure to be an exciting day as well. Doors will open at 12noon where guests are invited to choose up to five (5) titles, free of charge, from Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, Boom!, Dark Horse and more. This year’s big titles include Secret Wars #0, Fight Club 2, and Gronk (created by local artist Katie Cook). The legacy of comic books is alive and well. Enjoy this day of affordable family fun that is sure to bring out your inner super hero.

You can also help Nerdageddon fight hunger in Livingston County this summer. Visit Nerdageddon during this year’s Taste of Brighton Friday July 10th & Saturday July 11th. Five percent (5%) of all proceeds during those days will benefit Bountiful Harvest Food Pantry. Silent auction items to benefit Bountiful Harvest include a Spider-man framed picture autographed by Stan Lee and a Batman framed poster autographed by Christian Bale, George Clooney, Val Kilmer & Michael Keaton. All levels of Magic the Gathering players will have the opportunity to participate in thirty-six hours of MTG tournaments starting at noon on Friday July 10th. Prizes will be determined by the number of competitors.
