Hoke's team downs Hokies

How sweet it was, Michigan, playing in a major bowl game for the first time in years, won the Sugar Bowl early this morning. The game ended about 12:15 a.m. and though it wasn't pretty, it was exactly what the Wolverines and their fans needed.

I know it's hard to say that Michigan is 'back' but they are once again players on the national scene. The smudge on the face the program that was Rich Rodriguez is gone. Brady Hoke turned out to be the perfect coach for this team.

Hoke managed to get the seniors to buy into his program, and they won. They won early, they won often, and in the end they won.

I won't scream about the officials, but a bad call against Iowa might have cost this team a chance at the inaugural Big 10 championship game, but that's neither here nor there. This team won 11 games, including the Sugar Bowl. Eleven games seemed like a pipe dream under Rich Rod, but one year later, under coach of the year Brady Hoke, 11 games seems like just a start.

So that's right faithful readers, Michigan is back thanks in part to Hoke's win over the Hokies.
